About this project
Situated on a beautiful lake in northern Wisconsin, this 4,300 square foot contemporary cabin commands views of the north woods in every direction. The design incorporates large overhangs to shade the southern summer sun which covers the deep deck facing the lake. The first floor includes an open kitchen, dining and living room, along with the master bedroom. A tower like loft pierces the tree line with panoramic views and opens below to the living room and kitchen below. The lower level houses a bunk room, two bedrooms and a large, open family room for foosball and pool tables.
Built by an experienced timber framer and true craftsman, every corner of the cabin contains detail and purpose. The 20″ diameter hand hewn logs were handpicked. Special attention was given to every wood species, color and finish. A geo-thermal system provides heating and cooling with in-floor radiant heat in addition to a wood burning fire place in the lower level and a stone, gas burning fireplace on the first floor.
